Japanese Pattern Books

Twelve historical design plates from Japan: eight decorative-paper patterns compiled by Hirose Kikuo in Chiyogamishū (1926), and four butterfly designs from Kamisaka Sekka’s Chō senshu (1904). Full archival scans and cropped previews are preserved from the National Diet Library, Japan, with original titles, source records and reuse guidance.

Original means the unmodified digital file supplied by the linked archive, not an upscaled or reconstructed image. Sign in for free downloads. Studio uses a working preview up to 2048 px.
